** Toyota’s new flagship LandCruiser 300 GR Sport and Sahara ZX performance hybrid models to arrive mid-2026 **
** LandCruiser GR Sport performance hybrid priced from $156,060 **
** Performance hybrid maximum outputs of 341kW/790Nm make this the most powerful LandCruiser ever **

Toyota’s new flagship LandCruiser 300 Series performance hybrid model will be priced from $156,0601 for the GR Sport grade when it goes on sale in Australia in the middle of the year.

The new powerful i-FORCE  MAX twin-turbo V6 performance hybrid powertrain will be offered exclusively in the GR Sport and Sahara ZX grades – priced from $156,810 – and offers a substantial increase in performance compared with the diesel version – both on and off-road.

With a maximum combined output of 341kW of power and 790Nm of torque, the new performance hybrid delivers 114kW more power and 90Nm more torque than the LandCruiser 300 series 3.3-litre V6 turbo-diesel, making it the most powerful LandCruiser ever.

Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations John Pappas said the addition of the new powertrain option for the LandCruiser 300 Series flagship grades further enhanced the legendary go-anywhere capability of the LandCruiser.

“For more than two decades, Toyota has played a pioneering role in the development of hybrid technology and the new performance hybrid in the LandCruiser 300 Series takes that to another level,” Mr Pappas said.

“Unlike our efficiency hybrids in vehicles like Camry and RAV4, this hybrid powertrain is all about improving performance – whether that’s for off-road adventures well beyond the tarmac or towing heavy loads such as caravans, horse floats or boats.

“Toyota customers have experienced the power and towing performance of the i-FORCE MAX powertrain in the Tundra landmark truck, with that proven capability now coming into the LandCruiser family.

“As the most powerful LandCruiser we have ever produced, the new performance hybrid GR Sport and Sahara ZX offer the ultimate performance in a premium 4WD SUV,” he said.

Toyota’s performance hybrid system is a parallel hybrid system that combines a V6 petrol engine with a single electric motor-generator, placed between the engine and ten-speed automatic transmission.

With two power sources that can operate in tandem or individually, the performance hybrid system is able to deliver powerful, responsive and linear acceleration, high-speed cruising, and the strong torque needed under heavy load or when towing.2

Together with the new powertrain, the two flagship performance hybrid models feature electric power steering – turbo-diesel LandCruiser 300 Series maintain a hydraulic power steering system – an upgraded 200V/1500W rear auxiliary power socket capable of powering small appliances, and a 40/20/40-split rear seat back.

Apart from these changes, the performance hybrid GR Sport and Sahara ZX maintain the same high level of driving performance features as their diesel counterparts including a full-time four-wheel drive system, five-mode multi-terrain select, and adaptive variable suspension.

Sahara ZX features a rear Torsen®3 limited-slip differential while the off-road-focussed GR Sport offers fully lockable front and rear differentials and electronically-controlled E-KDSS suspension.

For comfort and convenience, both grades feature leather-accented upholstery and trim, heated and ventilated front seats and outboard rear seats with power operation for the front, 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen with a 14-speaker JBL®4 audio system and on the Sahara ZX, a dual rear-seat entertainment system.

Like all Toyota models, the LandCruiser 300 Series is covered by Toyota’s 5-year, unlimited km Toyota Warranty Advantage5 and offers capped price servicing for the first 5 years or 100,00km at $450 per service6.
