ANTICIPATION GROWS AHEAD OF NEW RAV4 LAUNCH
Toyota has again maintained its number‑one position in the Australian market delivering 13,606 vehicles in February. The result reinforces the strength and consistency of the Toyota brand in one of the world’s most competitive automotive landscapes.
Excitement is building ahead of the arrival of the next‑generation Toyota RAV4 – Australia’s best‑selling SUV in 2025. The first shipment has officially departed Japan and is scheduled to reach Australian shores by the end of March, marking the beginning of an important new chapter for one of Toyota Australia’s most iconic and sought‑after nameplates.
Since its debut in 1994, the RAV4 has become a symbol of reliability, practicality and adventure for generations of Australian drivers. More than 588,000 RAV4 vehicles have been sold locally, contributing to over 15 million global sales to date. Customer demand for the new HiLux also remains strong, with 3,625 vehicles delivered in February. Supply of the HiLux range will continue to build with the highly anticipated arrivals of the HiLux BEV and new Extra‑Cab variants, further enhancing the model’s versatility and capability.
Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations John Pappas said the February results underscore Toyota’s enduring reputation for quality, reliability and innovation.
“2026 has already proven to be an exciting and successful year for Toyota Australia.
“After much anticipation, we have officially commenced our biggest motorsport program yet, with five GR Supra Supercars joining the Supercars grid. This sits alongside our ongoing commitment to nurturing grassroots motorsport through the GR CUP, Scholarship Series and our support for Australian Rally Championship campaigns.
“Our February sales aligned with our plans for 2026. We anticipated a steady start to the year as we transitioned to the All-New RAV4, and it’s positive to see most of our current generation RAV4 vehicles have been sold and customer demand remains strong across the Toyota range.
“The continued success of Toyota in Australia is made possible by our incredible dealer network. With more than 270 Toyota dealer sites across the country, we proudly maintain Australia’s most extensive sales, service and genuine parts distribution footprint. This ensures we deliver the excellent ownership experience that our customers expect and deserve.”
